Iiris Puustinen (she/her b. 2000) is Finnish dance artist and performer based in Helsinki and Copenhagen.
She graduated from The Theatre Academy of The University of The Arts Helsinki with a BFA degree in dance in 2023, having completed part of the studies at The Danish National School of Performing Arts in Copenhagen.
Iiris was one of the artists featured in Amos Rex Museum's Generation23 exhibition and her debut choreographies have been presented at exhibitions and festivals in Finland and France.
Her work as a choreographer is rooted in the interest of exploring social and psychological phenomena, identity, and the gaze. Iiris’ broad movement background, especially in commercial dance remains as a source for her current work, as she refers popular culture and its phenomena drawing inspiration from it.
In the recent years Iiris has worked with choreographers and dance companies such as Ima Iduozee (FI), Svalholm (DK), Klevis Elmazaj (NL), The Nordic Beasts (DK) and performed in large stage productions at The Finnish National Opera and Savoy Theatre. She has performed with Finland’s leading artists such as Isac Elliot, Mikael Gabriel, Evelina, Krista Siegfrieds and Jonna Geagea in arena concerts and on TV productions.
