Iiris Puustinen is Finnish freelance dance artist based in Helsinki and Copenhagen.

She received BFA in dance from The Theatre Academy of The University of The Arts Helsinki in 2023, completing part of the studies at The Danish National School of Performing Arts.

Using the body as a medium she explores social phenomenas and norms,
identity, gaze, alternative enbodiments and popular culture. Her practise exploits complex choreographed movement material and improvisation in parallel. Using the tools of contemporary dance and performance making she creates multi-dimensional performances tied in time.

Her movement language draws on contemporary dance techniques as well as jazz and western commercial dance.

Iiris was one of Amos Rex museum’s Generation 23-artists and her debut choreography “3,2,1 (The Walk)” premiered at Amos Rex in 2023. Her latest solo work “Still we play it” was curated for Avis De Tempête Raccords Festival having it’s premiere in Paris, France in 2025.

In the recent years she has worked with choreographers and dance companies such as Ima Iduozee (FI), Svalholm (DK), Klevis Elmazaj (NL), The Nordic Beasts (DK), Judith Sanchez Ruiz (DE) and performed in productions such as Savoy Theatre’s “West Side Story” and Finnish National Opera’s “Don Giovanni” and “The Ostrobothnians”.
