Iiris Puustinen is finnish dance artist and performer based between Copenhagen and Helsinki.
She holds Bachelor´ s degree in dance from The Theatre Academy of The University of The Arts Helsinki (2023) and completed exchange studies at The Danish National School of Performing arts, DDSKS, in Copenhagen (2022).
Iiris is working extensively in the fields of dance, choreography and performing arts both working with choreographers and developing her own artistry.
In her artistic work she is inspired by pop-culture, internet-phenomena and identities as well as her background in commercial dance. Her choreographies has recognisable and highly visual style and by combining contemporary dance making with her own, broad movement language she is able to create unique universes. Currently she is fascinated to explore extraordinary ways of combining fashion and costume design with the moving body.
In 2023 she was selected to take part in Amos Rex’s triennal group exhibition "Generation 2023". Her debut choreography ”3,2,1 (The Walk)” was curated for the exhibition and had it´ s premiere at Amos Rex art museum in Helsinki.
With previous training focusing in jazz, show and streetdance, Iiris became versatile mover. She started working professionally in 2016 and has gained vast work experience in the Finnish dance field. She has worked in theater productions such as West Side Story (Savoy Theater) and Don Giovanni (The Finnish National Opera). On the commercial field, she has been part of TV-productions, concerts and cruise shows working with artists such as Isac Elliot, Mikael Gabriel, Evelina and Krista Siegfrieds, to name a few.
