ILONA 2023
Coming alive on Instagram, the performance expands to real life & explores the differences between internet and live performance. The audience is invited to explore the differences between witnessing dance in a social media platform and in present moment.
The performance concists of two parts. The first part, a visual diary is focused on the character development and movement research. It contains 14 Instagram length videos that was created using the dance-a-day method. @ilonawho
In the second part audience is witnessing the character outside internet, live on stage. The set choreography of the live performance is crafted using the movement material of the Instagram videos.
ILONA premiered at the Theatre Academy 4/2023 as part of Puustinen’s artistic thesis for the BFA studies.
